The basic course provides a broad overview of the topic and covers the basic procedure for planning and operating thermal networks on the basis of the “Handbook on Planning of District Heating Networks”, which is handed out to the participants.

Contents

The contents of the basic course are basically based on the following chapters in the Handbook on Planning of District Heating Networks.

  • Chapters 1 to 2: Introduction and heat supply

  • Chapter 3: Heat supply and distribution interface

  • Chapters 4 and 7: Heat distribution – basics and calculation

  • Chapters 5 and 8: Heat transfer – basics, technology and hydraulics

  • Chapter 6: Planning process with checklists

  • Chapter 9: Profitability
  • Introduction to network dimensioning with a professional tool

Fees & services

The basic course costs CHF 620 incl. VAT.
The price includes refreshments during breaks and lunch, drinks in the room, the relevant course documents and interesting discussions among experts. The basic course also includes a printed version of the Handbook on Planning of District Heating Networks.

Participants deepen their knowledge of the network design, which is important in the planning stage, and get an overview of the possibilities that special tools offer in the assessment during the planning and operation.
